•Choosing the right foods can decrease your risk for diseases like type II diabetes, high blood pressure, and cardiovascular disease.

•There are hundreds of weight loss programs, and yet the number of adults and children that fall into the category of being overweight or obese continues to increase.

•Obviously, something is not working. A shift is needed in the focus of weight loss programs.

•Focusing on improving health rather than losing weight is beneficial both physically and emotionally.

•The end result of a health-focused plan will be a loss of weight, but without the sacrifice of starvation, elimination of foods, or the requirement to only eat certain foods.

•By making healthy food and activity choices, a lifestyle is adopted that will allow for long term successful loss of body fat.

•The Health Plan for Overweight Children is a book with a back-to-basics approach to help parents improve the health of their child without focusing on body fat or weight.
